Flow-type magnetic separators – pressure devices
Flow-type magnetic separators are supplied as pressure devices that are subject to the Czech Government Decree No. 219/2016 Coll. – about the compliance assessment of pressure devices during their introduction to the market. This decree processes The European Parliament and Commission Directive No. 2014/68/EU (PED) dated May 15, 2014 regarding the harmonization of legislative regulations of the member states dealing with supplying of the pressure devices into the market.
The company MAGSY, s.r.o. is fully aware of and respects the requirements of the above stated national and international regulations and, in compliance with that, they manufacture and supply their pressure devices into the market.
Design
Each magnetic separator type is designed for a specific pipeline system and for a particular medium from which the magnetic impurities are to be separated. Therefore, it cannot be used in another application.
In order to provide that your magnetic separator is assigned to a pressure device category according to the 2014/68/EU (PED), we need to know the following essential facts:
- Incoming and outgoing flange size
- The highest permitted system pressure
- The highest permitted system temperature
- A medium expected to flow through the flow-type separator in question
Based on the above input data, magnetic separators may be classified into respective categories, and an optimum quotation dealing with a specific device type may be prepared for you.
For each flow-type magnetic separator, stiffness calculation is made, as well as the risk analysis, technical documentation and welding instructions.
Flow-type separators are manufactured in compliance with the harmonized norms ČSN EN 13480-1-5.
Manufacturing
Magnetic separators are made of stainless steel materials approved for a production of pressure devices. In case of parts subject to the pressure, material attests according to the ČSN EN 10204 – 3.1. standard are archived.
It is matter-of-course that welding procedures are qualified by WPQR, including welder certifications and approvals by ČSN EN ISO 9601-1:2018 – PED. All activities are supervised by an external contractual welding engineer – i.e. the welding supervisor.
In case the pressure device in question is classified into the category II or III, a cooperation with an announced partner is started. The compliance assessment method is organized using G modulus – an assessment of compliance of each particular piece.
Testing
NDT methods – Visual inspection, Radiographic testing and capillary testing to the extent as given by the norm ČSN EN 13480-5. A qualification of the personnel performing the NDT is supported by proper authorizations issued by respective accredited certification bodies.
The pressure test is carried out according to the ČSN EN 13480-5.
Documentation after supplying
The documentation is supplied in a language of the member country in which the pressure device will be put into the operation, if not stipulated otherwise.
- Declaration of conformity according to 2014/68/EU, for magnetic separators of the categories I – III, or
- Declaration of conformity according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17050-1 – for magnetic separators not falling under any category (article 4, section 3. 2014/68/EU)
- Installation and utilization manual
- Magnetic induction measurement protocol dealing with the device supplied
Magnetic separators used with loose or liquid mixtures, with a driving unit – machinery device
Magnetic separators equipped with own driving unit are – according to the European Parliament and the Commission Directive No. 2006/42/ES issued on May 17, 2006 and dealing with machinery devices and changes of the Directive No. 95/16/ES, defined as machinery devices or incomplete machinery devices.
Considering the above facts, they are treated using the requirements of the Directive No. 2006/42/ES and relevant requirements of other directives, especially the directive of the European Parliament and the Commission No. 2014/34/EU (EMC), and the European Parliament and the Commission Directive No. 2014/30/EU (LWD).
In case of your requirement, a compliance with the European Parliament and the Commission Directive No. 2004/1935/ES requirements, as dated October 27, 2004, about materials and objects stipulated for a contact with a food may be declared.
In case you would like to install this magnetic separator into an environment characterized by an explosion danger, we provide that a magnetic separator, delivered by us, fulfills all relevant requirements of the Directive No. 2014/34/EU (ATEX).
The fact that the machinery device in question is classified as an incomplete machinery device, or as a machinery device, will strongly depend on the delivery method:
1. Magnetic separator purchase, without putting into operation
The device is supplied as goods, and the customer organizes its installation and putting into operation at their own cost, becoming fully responsible for that.
In this case the device is delivered as an INCOMPLETE MACHINERY DEVICE according to the 2006/42/ES.
The company MAGSY, s.r.o. is responsible for the machinery safety only to the extent given by the incomplete machinery device supplied – the device installation safety assessment is not carried out.
After putting into the operation, the machine safe installation assessment must be performed, and ES compliance assessment declaration must be issued.
Documentation after the delivery
- Declaration of in-building of an incomplete machinery device according to 2006/42/ES, 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU
- In case of magnetic separators designed for explosive environments: EU Declaration of conformity according to 2014/34/EU
- Revision report of a working machine electrical device revision, made in the Czech language
- Operational manual including installation instructions
- Magnetic induction of the supplied device – a measurement protocol
2. Purchase of the magnetic separator including its putting into the operation – IBN
As a part of the device supply, also its putting into the operation is included.
In this case the device is supplied as a MACHINERY DEVICE according to 2006/42/ES.
The company MAGSY, s.r.o. is responsible for the safety of the device as such, and also for the safety during its proper installation within the pipeline system. In this regard, a cooperation with the device ordering party is essential, especially in the area of the selection of a proper device situating and providing all safety parameters of the magnetic separator installed.
Installed machinery device safety assessment is carried out by the company MAGSY, s.r.o. At the same time, operator training is provided.
Documentation after the delivery
