Magnetic separators

The main purpose of metal separation is to capture (sort out) metallic magnetic impurities from material. It can be liquid or dry. When using a magnetic separator, you can be sure that you have done the most to capture any unwanted metallic impurities. We will always offer you the best technical solution.

It all depends on the type of material and how it is transported. Material temperature, granularity and abrasiveness are important as well. The separator’s cleaning method affects the amount of metallic impurities captured. It may be either manual or automatic.

We classify magnetic separators according to material

The main classification is according to the material to be separated, divided into dry and liquid mixtures.

Dry mixtures include, for example, grain, flour, poppy seeds, construction waste, lime, kaolin, beet pulp, sugar, cement, shot, and salt. Most such separators are used in the food industry. They are important for the quality and safety of food, helping protect both you by meeting legal standards and your consumers.

Liquid mixtures include, for example, cooling emulsions, oil, syrup, diesel, ketchup, yoghurt, glaze, jam, chocolate… A separator will prevent metallic impurities from being pulled down by the liquid material flow, reducing the wear and tear of your technology and saving you a lot of money as well.

We classify magnetic separators according to the cleaning methods.

Example of a manually cleaned magnetic separator

Tank magnetic separator MF CIS – It is very easy to clean this separator. It consists of two removable parts – the separator body and magnetic tubes that are attached to its lid. You grasp the handle on the bayonet lid and pull the magnetic tubes to the top position, which will remove their magnetic properties and separate the metal impurities from the separator. A safety box is used to protect the magnetic cores during cleaning. A single person can carry out the entire cleaning.

Example of an automatically cleaned magnetic separator

Double-sided magnetic separator – separators with automatic cleaning are suitable for continuous operations where there is no need to interrupt their operation. The separator consists of a central and two side parts. The material flows through the central part, where the magnetic core is located. It is covered with a stainless steel tube, which moves to the side parts. In the side parts, the metallic impurities are demagnetised and separated. The customer can easily set the cleaning interval on a colour display.

Magnetic Separator for Liquid Mixtures

Flow-Type Magnetic Separator – Classic

This is the simplest version of the flow-type separator, consisting of a body, pipes on a flange, magnetic cores and connecting components. To clean the magnetic pipes after separation, it is necessary only to pull out the magnetic cores, after which the stainless-steel pipes demagnetise and the magnetic particles spontaneously fall off. We also make ECOSpecial, and Up versions thereof.

Encased Magnetic Grate

The encased magnetic grate is an advanced version of the conventional telescopic grates. This grate type can be used for magnetic separation of both liquid and bulk materials and mixtures. Its design enables it to be used to separate metal particles also from liquids in humid environments.

Magnetic Rod

The magnetic rod is a part of any magnetic grate, whether for separating liquid or bulk mixtures. The rod consists of a stainless steel pipe with a magnetic core inside enabling metal particles to attach.

Magnetic Separation Tank

The magnetic separation tank is an ideal assistant in operations which need to separate metal impurities from liquids. The magnetic separation tank is fitted with a magnetic cylinder which, by action of its rotation (and the ferrite or neodymium magnets contained therein) attracts and at the same time separates these particles, thus preventing them from continuing into the technological equipment or enabling maximum precision of the final product cleaning.

Flow-Type Magnetic Separator MF FAC

The flow-type magnetic separator MF FAC can be used either in the initial phase of the production process to separate metal impurities from liquid substances, thus avoiding damage to the technological equipment by metal particles. It can also be used in the last phase of production for rigorous cleaning of the mixture to achieve maximum cleanliness of the final product. The flow-type separator has a perfect internal design, thus ensuring maximum capture of impurities. This is the highest-quality method for the separation of metal impurities from liquid substances and is fully automatic.

Magnetic Separators for Dry Mixtures

Magnet for Injection Moulding Press Hopper

Hopper magnets represent a very popular alternative for the separation of metal impurities, mainly because it is a fast and efficient solution that is easy to install and cost-effective, but still does the maximum work possible. This separator type is frequently seen in the plastic-processing industry, or any other industry where granulate is used in production.

Magnetic Grate with Telescopic Cores

The magnetic grate is a good assistant for magnetic separation from dry and easy to pour materials. These grates have a magnetic field which attracts metal particles, attracting them to the magnetic grate where they remain attached until pipe demagnetisation.

Two-Level Magnetic Grate in Piping at the End of a Packing Line

The two-level magnetic grate is to be installed usually at the end of the line for final inspection of material for metal impurities in bulk and dry mixtures. Magnetic rods are situated in two rows one above the other, thus forming a sifting labyrinth for the most efficient magnetic separation.

Magnetic Separator with Telescopic Grates

The magnetic separator with telescopic grates requires manual cleaning of the grates, which are placed in a cabinet.  It is used for separating impurities from bulk and dry materials. This is the simplest version of MSV separators for less demanding clients, which is reflected in the lower price.

Tank Magnetic Separator

The tank magnetic separator consists of two separable parts, the body and magnetic component. The separator includes a labyrinth of magnetic pipes which are fitted with neodymium magnets. These magnetic pipes capture any ferromagnetic impurities which are contained in dry, easily penetrable material that passes through the labyrinth of pipes. It is frequently used in the food-processing or chemicals industries. These separators are robust, flexible and can create excellent magnetic induction. The maximum operating pressure in the pipeline is 2 bar.

Magnetic Plate Separator – Magnetic Lantern

The magnetic plate separator offers perhaps the broadest range of use of all known separators. They can be used to separate impurities from dry mixtures with poor pouring properties, as well as from abrasive materials, enabling even large metal particles to be captured.

Rotary Magnetic Separator MSVR

The rotary separator has exceptional separation properties even when separating material that has poor pouring properties and tends to arch and prevent fluent flow of material in the pipeline. Its separation properties are appreciated mainly in the food-processing industry for separation, for instance, from spices, flour, icing sugar, etc. Also in the chemicals industry, building and stoneware industry, plastic and rubber processing industry.

Magnetic Plate above Belt Conveyor

Magnetic plates are attached above the conveyor belt using four lugs, therefore, the magnetic field can capture the metal particles from the material being conveyed on the belt. The magnetic plates are usually made from ferrite magnets, but neodymium magnets can be used, as well. Dimensions are either standard, or adapted to the production needs. The magnetic plates can capture metal magnetic impurities with a maximum weight of 25 kg.

Double-Sided Magnetic Separator

The double-sided magnetic separator is able to separate impurities with a maximum size of 5 mm and also features an automatic cleaning function. This eliminates the need for manual work and makes it suitable for continuous operations.

One-Sided Magnetic Separator

A great advantage of this one-sided automatic magnetic separator is its small construction height, while it is able to separate from bulk mixtures even very fine metal impurities or impurities over 5 mm in size which cannot be separated by the double-sided separator described above.

Magnetic Roller

The magnetic roller is used on a line with conveyor belt. The roller captures metal impurities and automatically transfers them to a point behind its axis

Magnetic Separator above Belt Conveyor MSF

Magnetic separators above a belt conveyor, as the name indicates, are placed above a belt conveyor that transports material in production. It is most frequently used in production where they need to separate a larger quantity of ferromagnetic particles at a time as quickly as possible and in fully automatic mode. The separator consists of a magnetic plate made of a powerful magnet which is surrounded by the conveyor belt with carriers; their task is to transfer the captured metal particles to a point away from the magnet. The magnets are made in the size of the conveyor belt and can be split into three basic types based on the requirements of the customer and production.

Magnetic Drum

The magnetic drum can separate metal particles from bulk mixtures. The drum is placed under the receiving hopper of the machine or under the belt conveyor, from where the material falls onto the magnetic drum, where the drum rotation separates the magnetic metal particles which are then automatically removed in the distributor. The drum can be placed anywhere within the free fall of material, so does not need to be a part of the conveyor belt.
